Dim RPG

A hermetic journey of self-discovery, DIM places you in a strange world of gods and entities willing to lend you their powers in exchange for fealty. Instead of growing your character’s class you develop bonds with these entities, which in turn develops your character’s abilities. You are on a journey to go home from a place you never intended to end up.

The game mixes elements of ancient hermetic wisdom, Lovecraftian horror and the writer’s own experiences with neurodivergence to create an uneasy feeling of otherness.

Developed over many years as a way of creating a role-playing system where all types of conflict are as engaging as combat traditionally have been in pen and paper games. With mechanics created not as an open template, but as a way of tailoring gameplay to the game.

The game uses the Taler game mechanic “Ascension Story Engine” prototype.
